Awards

On the 1st of August 2003 we proudly took the Westpac Trust Business of Excellence Award as winner in the Radioworks Customer Choice.

We have also have been finalists in the Tourism and Hospitality category, along with the Beachcomber (Pahia) and the Waitangi Trust (winner in this category).



This was a very important event for us. Not only was it an outstanding success, it also showed us what great support we have from our guests and how they support us. This award is a great encouragement and we will continue to work even harder to satisfy our guests. Our goal stays the same though: after you leave our little brewery we want you to have the warm feeling of having enjoyed a great evening in a cosy, friendly environment with hosts that "go the extra mile" for you.

We've also won several awards for our beer, but we will not list them here and do not intend to participate anymore in NZ beer competitions. We have been surprised by the amateur behaviour of judges and we seriously doubt their qualification (most of them would not even have the equivalent of a brewer degree, not to mention the experience and qualification of a brewmaster). Certainly it is nice to receive recognition for your work from a judging panel, but in the end this is not relevant. After all we don`t make our beer for judges (or people that assume they are judges) we make the beer for you - our guest.
